Application Process

Thanks for taking time to learn more about the Rotary Club of Des Moines!

The Rotary member who who will serve as your sponsor will submit a “Membership Proposal Form” to the Board of Directors proposing you for membership to the Rotary Club of Des Moines.  Please expect some down time during this part of the process as the board meets monthly.

Following the board approval of your application, your name will be printed in our E-bulletin for a ten-day wait period.  During this time, our Club bylaws allow for written objections from the membership.

After the expiration of ten days, if the number of Qualifying Objections received is less than 20% of the Eligible Voting Members, you shall be considered duly elected to membership.

Plan to attend the next scheduled New Member Orientation Meeting with your sponsor.  At this meeting you will receive a member packet, instructions to log into our website, a member roster and your name badge.  You and your sponsor will be notified when the next orientation is scheduled.

As soon as scheduling allows, you will be introduced to the Club. We will give you a form with questions to submit for your introduction.

Please note that you are welcome to attend our Thursday lunches while your application is in process.  You must RSVP to the RCDM office by Wednesdays at 9 a.m.  You are allowed to attend two lunches for free as a prospective member. Lunches are $22 per week and will be billed to your account after your two visits.

Dues are billed quarterly to members by email.  Please make sure we have your correct email and any others in your organization who need to receive our dues statements.
